Sir,
I have the honour to acknowledge the receipt of your Despatch No. 53 of the 15th of last February, and to inform you that I have instructed the Acting Colonial Treasurer to cause the returns which accompanied your Despatch under acknowledgment to be completed on the model suggested by you.
2. The Treasurer reports that there are 598 returns to be made out, and that he expects them to be finished in about three or four months' time from now.
3. In the meanwhile, I have the honour to transmit a copy of the Annual Sanitary Reports for the years 1899 and 1900, in compliance with the request contained in the last paragraph of your Despatch.
